Martha Maxine Oswald Ochs, born September 28, 1930, passed away April 17, 2024, at the age of 93, while in the care at North Okaloosa Medical Center.
She graduated from Greenwood High School in Greenwood, Fl. in 1948 and has been a resident of Crestview since 1950, and retired from Okaloosa County where she worked in the Zoning and Planning Dept. Maxine married and had three sons including many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she played basketball in high school and loved to watch Florida State University sporting events, she was an accomplished bowler and participated in league play and tournaments in Crestview and Fort Walton Beach for many years, and a very tough Scrabble player and quick to respond while watching her favorite game show Jeopardy. Maxine enjoyed many hours researching family genealogy and had traced her father and mother’s family back before the Revolutionary War. She was a founding member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Crestview and current member of Immanual Lutheran Church in Pensacola, Florida.
In lieu, of flowers the family request that donations be made in Maxine’s name to the American Heart Association atHeart.org.
A time of visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 from 12:00-1:00pm at Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home with the funeral service starting at 1:00pm.
